betimes cmas cake

for the first time ever i have made a cmas cake before december! usually it's made after cmas itself and this year wasn't actually made until easter i think...

but i saw that fellow around-the-world-in-20-quilts-person celia had made hers and the recipe looked so intriguing that i felt inspired to dig into the pantry and the only ingredient that had to be bought was glace cherries so i felt Frugal and Well Pantried as well :)

even more enchuffing was the fact that the fruit was not left to mature in booze for weeks if not months but the cake was made within 24 hours. and stir up sunday isn't until 23 november this year :)
