here is w's quilt - top finished! my first go at mitred corners and i'm really pleased with them.
snowball blocks with a border of red homespun and four pinwheel blocks that were an absolute pain to make. i know they are simple but i have terrible spatial relations skills and got into all sorts of trouble trying to get the right coloured triangles in the right positions. much growling and unpicking ensued.
the mitred border was relatively easy compared to the dratted pinwheels.
the back will be a jane sassaman bright stripe with a central panel of more cats.

in with the new
edited to say i still haven't taken a photo but you can see one just the same here and i have now had a play and it's such fun!
here is my wonderful all singing all dancing janome - isn't she beautiful. at the moment i can only stand back in awe - my first brand new machine
she replaces a faithful, if often infuriating, workhorse that was my mother's.
as you can see she required some support in the shape of a teletubby to stay plugged in. the teletubby also seved as a convenient pincushion.
back to stand reverentially in front of the New Machine - i might even dare to turn it on
